Caring for the vulnerable in our city

No-one is immune to all the hardships of life. But for some, they just overwhelm. At that moment, if someone could just pull alongside with a listening ear, a word of encouragement, even a plan and some connections to help lift them out, that could make the difference between sink or swim.

That’s why Networkfour exists. To be the ‘safety net’ in Birmingham at times of crisis.

How to help?

Someone asleep on a bitterly cold night in a shop doorway, huddling for the warmth of a concourse, a haunted look as busy commuters look away. Perhaps a frightened mum plucking up courage to enter a police station, or anguishing over buying a daughter’s new school shoes, so much hardship at every turn…

Surely everyone wants to help but the question is how?

Networkfour has been answering that question for 15 years. Come on in and take a look.

Volunteers: We Need You

We depend almost entirely on the kindness and commitment of our volunteers. The Birmingham Pastors project particularly is built on volunteering by the good people from faith groups, students, retired folks or anyone (over 18 years old) with a heart for the vulnerable who can commit to at least one four-hour shift per month.

We try to be as flexible as possible to get you rapidly registered, trained up and active. Go on, hit that button!
